Browsholme Hall/Slaidburn village tour

Event type: Group event
Date: 17th August 2026
Time: 9:30 am - 4:30 pm
Group: Old Buildings
Organiser:

Browsholme Hall has been the family home of the Parker family for well over 500 years. The original building was constructed in the late 14th or early 15th century but when Bowland lost its Royal deer park status in 1507 the 'parker' (deer park keeper) Edmund Parker erected the present manor house. In the 17th century the building was refaced in pink sandstone and in the 18th and 19th centuries the east and west wings were added. The building is spectacular, inside and out, and houses fine collections of oak chests, Gillow furniture, porcelain, civil war arms and much more. After a guided tour of the house, and lunch in the cart shed cafe, we'll make our way to the historic village of Slaidburn for a guided tour of its special buildings in the company of the Slaidburn Archive.
