Settle District u3a (2025-26)
- Our membership year runs from 1 July to 30 June, but you can join at any point during the year.
- Once you have joined as a member you will be given a login to Beacon - the system where members information and membership of groups is kept. The Beacon page has more information on this system including how to update your personal information and join groups.
- Your membership fee to us covers a member fee we pay to the national u3a organisation. You will also be able to sign in to the national website u3a.org.uk and receive a postal copy of the national u3a magazine, Third Age Matters (TAM). However, the contents of the magazine can also be accessed on the national website and many of our members have opted to do this rather than receive a paper copy for environmental reasons and also because it saves Settle District u3a some money. If you decide not to receive a paper copy please let the membership secretary know.
How to join
- We will need you to complete our membership form – see below.
- If you are paying by bank transfer (our preferred option) you can email your completed membership form to the Membership Secretary
- If paying by cash/cheque please send the completed form and payment to the Membership Secretary: c/o The Place, 11 Commercial Courtyard, Duke Street, Settle, BD24 9RH.
- If you would like a paper copy of the membership posted to you, please contact the Membership Secretary.
- Voluntary donations in addition to the membership fee are always welcome and help us to run our u3a.
Gift Aid
If you are able to offer gift aid please complete the gift aid section of the membership form.
Membership fees
- Individual membership fee – £20
- Joint membership – £39 (for partners/spouses living at the same address)
- Fees for new members only joining after 1 January are £10 (Individual) or £19.50 (Joint).
- WestNet – if you are a member of another WestNet u3a (Bradford or Ilkley) no fee.
- Associate – if you are currently a member of any other u3a the annual fee is £16.00 for an individual.
