Our second visit to this triumph of Victorian architecture with its imposing 200 feet tall clock tower. Built in the Venetian style popular in the late nineteenth century Bradford City Hall features a series of statues on the facade depicting past English monarchs. Interestingly Oliver Cromwell, who styled himself Lord Protector, but who was referred to as His Highness, is one of those included. The building's interior includes the stunning Banqueting Hall and the magnificent Council Chamber, modelled on the many local chapels which encapsulate the Evangelical movement so prominent at the time.
