Classic cinema: What makes classic cinema and why do they endure regardless of time ?.
Travel back to the golden age of Hollywood and the world of comedy, film noir and melodrama. Stars such as Bette Davis’s and Ingrid Bergman, Cary Grant, Louis Armstrong and Katherine Hepburn were directed by ground breaking directors from across Europe and beyond including Fritz Lang, Carol Reed, Alfred Hitchcock and George Cukor.
Each month we will watch a different film and discuss its merits and shortcomings, as well as thinking about the influence it has exerted on future film makers.
You don’t have to have any previous knowledge of films, just a willingness to share your opinions in a relaxed and friendly environment.
