Approaching Astley Hall from the rear doesn't prepare you for the view awaiting you of the grand front range, added to the original late 16th century building in 1665. It is nothing short of breath-taking. With its fine oak furniture, Flemish tapestries and wooden panelling the inside the house is a delight. The mid-17th century plasterwork in the ceilings of the Great Hall and Drawing Room are particularly fine.
