A brief presentation from group member John Tiernan on the construction and signalling technology of the signal box at Settle Station will be followed by a private guided tour of the building and a demonstration of its operation. This historic signal box once controlled train movements on the Settle section of the scenic Settle-Carlisle railway and preserves the vintage mechanical signalling technology in use until 1984.
